Inspiration &Design concept

A cross cultural marriage likely to deliver interesting fruit. The dynamic stream lining of a Japanese Daruma doll and a Thai ancient silver coin Pod Duang sculpt the form of the Sputnik armchair. The dynamic curves and voids on the chair’s form are meant not only to sculpt a friendly spherical look but also offer comfort sitting ergonomically.



Production & Technology

Hundreds of resin mosaic pieces are applied on the smooth surface of this fiberglass chair, which is reminiscent of the decorative mirror mosaics of a sacred Thai temple. The tiny mosaics are applied manually piece by piece, recalling the artisan’s valuable endeavor. Sputnik comes in various finishing alternatives; water-hyacinth and fabric upholstery are also available.
