His Design Odyssey
Eggarat's odyssey began in Bangkok's vibrant Thonburi district, a melting pot of Hindu, Catholic, Islamic, and Thai traditions. Born into a Chinese-Thai heritage with a pure Thai maternal lineage, his upbringing was a rich tapestry of diverse cultural influences.
Raised Buddhist, Eggarat's academic foundation was laid at a Catholic school, complemented by Buddhist elementary education. This eclectic start paved the way for his future design innovations.

Cross-Visionary
Eggarat's initial foray into design was at Silpakorn University, where he studied graphics as his first design discipline. His postgraduate studies in graphic design (1980-1985) involved being immersed in international visual communication, and he honed his visual advertising design and conceptual thinking skills after working at Leo Burnett. Then, he later mastered three-dimensional design (1986-1988) under Italian visionaries Andrea Branzi, Alessandro Mendini, Vico Magistretti, Ettore Sottsass, and Gaetano Pesce at Domus Academy in Milan, Italy. He later found a position in design at Paolo Nava's Studio in Milan's Brianza industriale zone. Six-year tenure (1988-1994) refining his design skills.
In 1991, Eggarat returned to Bangkok, establishing Studio Egg-Karat. His mission was mainly focused on fusing traditional Thai craftsmanship with contemporary industrial design and redefining creative expression in Thailand. This pioneering spirit continues to inspire Eggarat's remarkable designs up to the present.
