Glocal Fusion

In 2005, Eggarat, a visionary designer and educator, embarked on a groundbreaking journey at Rangsit University. He led a postgraduate program focused on Thailand's rich local wisdom and sought to catapult this heritage onto the global stage. This ambition led to the creation of "Crafactor," a design powerhouse that would export his innovative furniture designs, infused with traditional craftsmanship, to the world.
Through meticulous research, Eggarat delved into the essence of Thai wisdom, discovering unique craftsmanship in suburban areas that set Thailand apart from its neighbors. Despite the cultural cross-pollination of China, India, and Islamic influences, Thai design has evolved with distinctive flair.
Eggarat's quest for design excellence led him to distill the abstract infrastructure of form and expression rooted in Thailand's regional contexts. His furniture design collection became a testament to the beauty of abstraction, as everyday experiences – from travel to food, architecture, and rituals – wove together into a rich narrative.
By fusing disparate forms and objects, Eggarat crafted a fresh design language. His furniture collection transcended borders, resonating with design connoisseurs worldwide. In 2007, his export line took flight, with his pieces gracing the homes of style aficionados in Paris, New York, Copenhagen, Tokyo, Dubai, Rome, Milan, Taipei, Hong Kong, and beyond.
